Christmas Day 2014

Merry Christmas everyone!
We hope you have all had a wonderful time and enjoyed every last minute of the season! We certainly have had an amazing Christmas, although very different from what we are used to. Also having just moved house we were in a slight panic that we wouldn't get the place sorted by Christmas but we did! We spent a quiet Christmas eve in (after having to go out to return Calleigh's big present as it was smashed inside the box and they were completely out of stock everywhere! I was gutted) watching some TV and opening our Christmas Eve Baskets.

I have missed my family over Christmas especially today, but we still got to chat with them in the morning and they got to see Calleigh open some presents.

The morning didn't start out amazing though as both Calleigh and I have been battling a cough and cold for the past few days and it seemed that we were both pretty bad with out throats on Christmas morning. I was losing my voice and even though I could see Calleigh really trying to be excited she just didn't have the energy straight away nor was she in a particularly good mood after a bad night.

But once she had some toast and milk inside her she seemed to perk up a bit and eventually managed to open all her presents. She was so happy with all her presents so thank you to everyone that brought her a present.

We still have a lot left to do in our house, it's pretty hard to do things with Calleigh around, but we really have our fingers crossed to be settled by the new year! And then hopefully I can put my time back into the blog and doing my favourite thing of all- taking photos of Calleigh!

Anyway
Here are some photos of our Christmas!

The Polar Express

Earlier this week we took Calleigh on The Polar Express Train Ride at Union Station in St Louis. I booked it ages ago as I managed to grab some tickets- they sold out really fast! I have been looking forward to it for weeks and it did not disappoint!

We arrived at the station and went to the depot to get our boarding passes and gold tickets and then shortly afterwards we were boarding the train headed for the North Pole! Calleigh was really excited to be going on a train and although she hasn't seen The Polar Express she enjoyed all of the actors and the things they were doing. We drank hot chocolate to the hot chocolate song from the movie and then enjoyed a cookie whilst enjoying the views of downtown St Louis. We hadn't seen the arch for a long time so it looked really good!
We arrived at the North Pole and Santa was waving at us, Calleigh loved it and was waving back getting so excited.. and then he boarded the train. We were right at the back and Calleigh was first to meet Santa as he came on. He kneeled down in front of her and gave her a silver bell, just like the film, and asked her what she wanted for Christmas. She of course replied that she wanted My Little Ponies!

This was the first year that Calleigh enjoyed seeing Santa and wasn't terrified of him haha. Just the look of excitement on her face was enough to bring me to tears.
I can't wait to see her face Christmas morning!

In other news you may have noticed it's been awfully quiet here on the blog as of late. Well, we have got ourselves a house and are in the process of moving in (I know a week before Christmas?? Are we crazy?).
I'm going to really try and post again before Christmas and share some photos of Calleigh in her new room. If not it will be something to look forward to next year!

The First Day of Advent

So it's the first of December today which means it's Christmas in 24 days!!!! I am very excited for Christmas this year, even though I will miss spending it with lots of family I am kind of looking forward to it just being the three of us and spending it in America.
All of Calleigh's presents have been brought and wrapped, although there is still plenty of time for more to be added- kind of a down side to getting everything done so early!

We put the tree up the day after Calleigh's birthday and although she's been pretty good with it so far there have been a few occasions where she has taken the baubles off! We are almost finished with our decorations and lights outside too. I will be sure to share some pictures of it all when we have finished!

But for now I would like to share a little video of Calleigh and her advent calendar, she was not pleased that she could only have one haha!

3rd Birthday Celebrations

Calleigh had such an amazing day for her 3rd birthday. She got up early and saw her my little pony scene up on the wall and was excited straight away. Then came the presents- which she took ages opening as she wanted to play with each and every one as she opened them!

After all the presents had been opened we went to pick up the cake and did a little Black Friday shopping before heading back for Calleigh to blow out her candles and have some cake.

Tomorrow she has been invited to her best friends birthday party and she is so excited. Her best friend happens to be born on the same day as Calleigh- they are like two peas in a pod and are always together at daycare.

Here are a few photos from Calleigh's day!

The First Snow

So winter has arrived here in Missouri and we had our first snow! It was only one day we had the snow but the cold temperatures lasted a while and since then temperatures have been up and down like crazy- pretty typical for Missouri really from what I hear.

Of course I had to let Calleigh have a play in the snow, she was excited watching it fall all day and we had a great time building a snowman and having a snowball fight.
Best thing about having a snowball fight with a toddler- they can't throw haha!

Afterwards I brought her inside and gave her a nice warm chocolate drink (hot chocolate that wasn't hot haha) with cream and sprinkles!

I'm assuming this will be the first of many snow posts as winter goes on :-)
