An Unseasonably Warm Day

On Monday we had some more beautiful weather and we actually managed to spend some quality time playing out in the garden for the first time since we moved in.
Calleigh really enjoyed playing with all her outdoor toys that she hasn't seen since summer ended (which feels like ages ago, come back summer!)

I can't wait for the weather to get better so we can really make the most of the nice garden we have. I loved the decking at the other place but it really feels nice to have a level backyard and plenty of space for Calleigh to run about!

The First Snow

So winter has arrived here in Missouri and we had our first snow! It was only one day we had the snow but the cold temperatures lasted a while and since then temperatures have been up and down like crazy- pretty typical for Missouri really from what I hear.

Of course I had to let Calleigh have a play in the snow, she was excited watching it fall all day and we had a great time building a snowman and having a snowball fight.
Best thing about having a snowball fight with a toddler- they can't throw haha!

Afterwards I brought her inside and gave her a nice warm chocolate drink (hot chocolate that wasn't hot haha) with cream and sprinkles!

I'm assuming this will be the first of many snow posts as winter goes on :-)

The Pumpkin Patch

This last weekend we went down to the Pumpkin Patch to pick out some Pumpkins for our front porch display. It was wet and muddy but Calleigh had a great time, jumping in muddy puddles and all that (thanks Peppa Pig).
It's amazing how many pumpkins there are!

Lake of the Ozarks.

After our fun trip to Branson we decided to take another one. It was Memorial Day weekend and there was a great offer on a hotel right on the Lake of the Ozarks- somewhere we have wanted to go for a while now. So of course we booked it and this time for two nights so we had more time to explore!

The drive went well and we got to the hotel in good time. The hotel we stayed at was called Tan-Tar-A and it was a big resort right on the lake with it's own marina and Indoor Water Park!
After we checked in and dropped our bags off at the room we took a quick walk around the grounds of the hotel before stopping for some dinner in the resorts Big Bear Lodge Restaurant. After dinner we let Calleigh have a pay in the games room and then had a beer on the deck before taking Calleigh to the little in ground park to have a run around.

That night we also rented a golf cart to ride around in for an hour. It was so much fun, even if it did feel like we were going to tip over around every bend!

The first night was great and we even had time to take Calleigh for a quick swim. Unfortunatey didn't get any photo's of that as I didn't take my camera along.

The next day we went out of the resort and had breakfast at Golden Corral and I had an unfortunate encounter with bacon candy (eurgh!). After that we did some shopping at the Osage Beach Outlets.
After that we drove around hoping to see the Ozark Caverns but they were closed so we found somewhere else instead where we stopped for a bit and watched the geese and ducks.

After that we went back to the resort and hung out by the pool for a bit but it was too hot to stay for very long, I could feel myself burning, so we headed back to the room and got changed ready for the firework display.
We decided to watch the fireworks from the deck of the Big Bear Lodge which was a great idea as it was practically empty and we got there nice and early so had plenty of time to play!

Calleigh didn't stay for too long for the fireworks, the bangs still frighten her a little bit so she went to the games room with Daddy. The show was amazing and it was the perfect end to a perfect weekend!

First Taste of Summer

Firstly I just want to say how incredibly happy and blessed I feel to have this gorgeous little lady as my daughter! Just look how happy she is and it is such a pleasure to watch her growing up!

This weekend the weather has been amazing, a serious taste of summer and we have been making the most of it. Hopefully it's going to stick around for a while as I'm not ready for all this fun to end! Plus my mum is coming out for her visit on Tuesday and it will be awesome if the weather stayed like this for her!

On Saturday we decided to put up the pool we brought last year and finally get some use out of it. Calleigh was having a nap at the time which was good as it took absolutely ages to fill (and we only filed it halfway!). When she got up she was so surprised to see the pool there and couldn't wait to get in. She ran upstairs to go and get her swimming costume on. Unfortunately, it was last years and she had outgrown it a little. I also didn't have any swim diapers but figured it would be okay with a normal one.

I was very wrong about the diaper, it exploded and all the filling came out everywhere. Don't really know why I thought it would be okay but we did have a little laugh at the fact she looked a bit like Kim Kardashian. After I got her out and changed we sat down for some dinner from the BBQ for the first time since last year. It was amazing!
Best part- When Calleigh ran outside and saw her exploded diaper on the floor and scream "Oh No! My Panties have broken!"

We had another great day on Sunday and spent more time in the pool, after we had been out and brought her some swimming diapers and a new Dora costume.
