3rd Birthday Celebrations

Calleigh had such an amazing day for her 3rd birthday. She got up early and saw her my little pony scene up on the wall and was excited straight away. Then came the presents- which she took ages opening as she wanted to play with each and every one as she opened them!

After all the presents had been opened we went to pick up the cake and did a little Black Friday shopping before heading back for Calleigh to blow out her candles and have some cake.

Tomorrow she has been invited to her best friends birthday party and she is so excited. Her best friend happens to be born on the same day as Calleigh- they are like two peas in a pod and are always together at daycare.

Here are a few photos from Calleigh's day!

The First Snow

So winter has arrived here in Missouri and we had our first snow! It was only one day we had the snow but the cold temperatures lasted a while and since then temperatures have been up and down like crazy- pretty typical for Missouri really from what I hear.

Of course I had to let Calleigh have a play in the snow, she was excited watching it fall all day and we had a great time building a snowman and having a snowball fight.
Best thing about having a snowball fight with a toddler- they can't throw haha!

Afterwards I brought her inside and gave her a nice warm chocolate drink (hot chocolate that wasn't hot haha) with cream and sprinkles!

I'm assuming this will be the first of many snow posts as winter goes on :-)

Getting Back on Track

Things have been a bit crazy over here in the last couple of weeks and once again my little blog has been feeling a little neglected. Just to catch you all up and offer a bit of an explanation I thought I would share a bit of what has been going on these past couple of weeks.

Of course first off my mother is over visiting us again so we have been spending quality time with her and going out and about quite a bit. It is also November which is Calleigh's birthday month so we have been shopping, wrapping and organising birthday celebrations. Christmas is also just around the corner so that meant more shopping and wrapping as I wanted to get a good head start as we may not have much time leading up to Christmas.

With that being said it leads us to the next couple of big things that have been happening. We have found ourselves a little house we like and have been (and still are) in the process of securing it and sorting out all of the painstaking tasks involved in buying a house- obviously made even more of a difficult job thanks to the fact that we are not American and have not been here 2 years yet. But we are getting there slowly.
And the second thing is that I have finally found myself some seasonal work :-)

Aside from all of that we have been enjoying quiet nights and I have really neglected my camera, which I hate because I love taking photo's of Calleigh so much and it pains me that I don't have hundreds of photo's of her to share with you!
But alas there are some- so here is a little bit of what we have been up too told in photo's!

Making some cookies with Mee Mee

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies (slightly burnt due to multi-tasking)

Playing at the park

Learning to climb up

She can do it by herself now but still needs us near for support

"Helping" Mee Mee with her latchhook

On a play date with her best buddy

Beautiful smile ruined by chocolate!

Building a cushion fort!

She wanted a froggy on her face

Wrapping up her birthday presents

Daddy went away for a week on business so I was on night time duty!

Taking a break in Starbucks with a cake pop and ponies!

A Mommy App Review

I'm always using apps on my smart phone and there are so many out there sometimes it;''s hard to find the one that is right for you and your needs. Well today I'm sharing with you a new app called A Mommy App.
A Mommy App was created by a mommy with mommies in mind and is everything you would expect from an app with this name.

The main feature of the app is the kids section where you list your children and can fill in all sorts of information about them from important milestones to likes and dislikes and even appointments. The page is fully customizable and you can change the avatar to look like your child and dress them up in fun clothes. Calleigh decided she wanted to be a princess but there are tons to choose from. You can also change the background and you can make it rain or snow too!

Another great feature is the Mommy Quiz where you can test your mommy knowledge with 200 questions and it gives you a percentage at the end so you can keep trying until you are the queen of mommy knowledge!

Calleigh's favourite part of the app is the games section. There are three games to play when you have a spare 5 minutes from mommy duties. Calleigh loves the bubble pop game and it actually keeps her quiet for a short period!

The app is great for storing all of your information about your children as well as for taking a much need five minutes for mommy- if you get chance! There is even a section for stress relief so you can unload some of that stress of the day with inspirational quotes and words of wisdom!

You can download the app on iPhone here or if you have an android you can download it here.

You can also connect with The Mommy Glow on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Trick or Treating

Calleigh had so much fun trick or treating this year and really got into the spirit of it shouting "Trick or Treat" at people when they opened the door. It did get very cold though and her little nose went bright red, I thought we should have dressed her up as Rudolph!

Here are a few photo's of her cute little witch costume.
