Cat's Enough

As I think you all know Calleigh has got a bit of an obsession with cats. Here is her ever growing collection of cats. The large grey one is her favourite, he goes to bed with her every night.

I am aware that the bear at the back is in fact a bear but he has a sound chip inside that meows like a cat so he gets included in her collection.

Painting with Peppa

I always love finding new and interesting things to do with Calleigh. Recently I have been buying the Peppa Pig magazine, It's a little bit "old" for her as she can't read or write yet but she enjoys the bright pages and free toys you get with it. Plus it's filled with colouring pages, stickers and lot's of fun activities to try.

Calleigh absolutely loves stickers at the moment.
Everywhere is covered with stickers. Doors, windows, tables, carpets and even in the bottom of your cup of tea.
You name it there is a sticker on it.

The other day we tried a bit of what I call "safe" painting. It's actually the magic pages where you just paint using water and it puts colour on the page. Calleigh had a good time using the paint brush but seemed much more interested in tipping the water everywhere.

I think we will stick to crayons for the time being, even if they do end up as a snack (the blue crayon has a few bites out of it).

In other news Calleigh has rented out her travel cot to the cat.

Playing with the Cat

One of Calleigh's favourite things to do when we go to visit Mee Maw is chasing little Bianca around the house.

Bianca on the other hand is less than pleased when we come to visit. It means her lazy afternoon snoozing on the sofa is replaced with hiding in her tunnel.

Poorly Calleigh

My little Calleigh beans is a poorly girl today.

I've had a cold all through the past week and tried my hardest not to pass it on to Calleigh, even though it broke my heart to miss out on all the cuddles and kisses she wanted to give me.
We even sent her away over the weekend to stay with Nanna and Grandad as Paul came down with it too.
She came back yesterday evening happy as ever to see us.
Unfortunately it wasn't enough and this morning my little angel was snuggled up on the sofa with her cat, with red cheeks and a snotty nose, coughing and sobbing to herself.
She looks so sad bless her.

I hope she feels better soon, it's horrible to see her suffering. I want my happy little beans back, running around everywhere causing chaos.
Oh how I missed the chaos this morning.

The Love of All Things Cat

Calleigh's most favourite thing in the world is her cat.
She meow's for him when she wakes up in the morning, she cuddles him all day long and we make sure he goes with her wherever she goes.
He even came to Denmark with us.

That's why when asked what Calleigh would like for her birthday or for Christmas we easily say, anything with a cat on it.
My friend Charlotte of Charlotte's Web wrote a post about how hard it was to buy for a baby, and it is, even when you have a baby it's difficult to find something that's in the right age range that she will enjoy playing with.

But I think Charlotte pulled it off in the end.
She brought her a little cat book called That's not my kitten by Usborne.

Calleigh really enjoys books, obviously she can't read yet, but the good thing about this book is that it is interactive (and of course, It's a cat).
On each page there is a different part of the cat that you can touch and each has a different feel to it.
It's a great way for babies and toddlers to learn about texture.

There are other books in the series too.
I have got her one for Christmas called That's not my reindeer.

Nowhere is Safe

Calleigh and I went to visit Auntie Lana yesterday. Every time I walk in the door I can almost see the cat think "Oh No! Not Again!!". You see now Calleigh is, shall we say, mobile the cat finds it very hard to sit down in peace.
Now yesterday I think Calleigh took it to a new level and informed the cat that sitting at a height is no longer safe either. Bianca (the cat) jumped up to the top of her scratching post and Calleigh, displeased with the fact that she could no longer chase her around the floor, began shaking the post to try to get her to come down.

Motion shot so a little shaky

Poor Cat
Upon realising that cat's have exceptional holding on skills. Calleigh gave up and moved on to something new. This time she decided that Mee-Maws glass door was a bit dirty and gave it a little clean for her.

Someone's at the Door

It no big news that Calleigh loves cats.
Her first word was cat, her favourite toy is a cat and she loves to chase Mee-Maws cat around the house.
So it was a nice treat for her when we were visited by next door's cat.

Apologies for the phone video, my camera couldn't be found at the time.

It's all about Cats and Birds

Mee-maw had the day off work on Tuesday so Calleigh and I went to spend the day at hers. Calleigh spent the morning exploring the house and keeping us on our toes. She also followed the cat around for a bit, much to the poor cats displeasure. It was your typical stand off when the two came face to face.

In the afternoon, thanks to the nice sunshine we were having, I decided to go up to Attenborough Nature Reserve so Calleigh could see some birds.
After parking up Mee Maw and Calleigh went on ahead whilst I paid for parking. When I caught up with them Calleigh was stone faced, completely uninterested whilst Mee Maw was being attacked by the huge swans. I had a little laugh, being the nice person that I am before going to rescue them.

After a quick cuppa I decided on a bit of shopping as there were some shops nearby.
Spent some money on Calleigh as always and even spent some of Mee Maws money on Calleigh too. She's a spoilt little girl.

Here are some more photos from Attenborough just so you can see how excited Calleigh was to be there.
