I love spring nights! They are not too hot and not too cold and the perfect time to go for an evening walk to the lake and do a bit of midweek fishing!

Tooling Around
Calleigh loves to help Daddy when he's doing a bit of D.I.Y. Just recently he has managed to finally fix the lawn mower (it only took six months), this means we no longer have to pay $25 a week to get our lawn mowed and we can put that money towards our savings instead- Woohoo!
Calleigh loves to copy at the moment and everything Daddy was doing, Calleigh had to do too. I think she would make a pretty good mechanic, she seemed to know what everything was for.

Hot Dog
On Friday night we all went to a Chilli Cook Off at a Bluebird Park.
It was great, one of the best little nights out we have had out here. Calleigh was in such a good mood and the whole evening just seemed to go really well. We paid a small sum of $3 each (for Daddy and I) and that got us a taste of each of the Chilli's in the competition. The first one we tried was easily the winner in our eyes, it was by far one of the best I have ever tasted.
After we had tried all of the Chilli's Paul was still a little peckish so decided to get himself a hot dog to tie him over. Well, so he thought. He ended up just eating the bun as Calleigh took the sausage off him haha.
I found it hilarious watching Paul eat an empty hot dog roll.
I had a lovely slice of Homemade Apple Pie which Calleigh left all to me before we headed off to the park to let Calleigh have a good play. She had been so good all night we let her stay for a long time.
She adores the slide so much its crazy. That is literally all she did for about half and hour.
It was a bit too dark to take any photos (good ones anyway) and there were far too many kids running around to try to take any.
I don't think Calleigh was too pleased about the amount of kids that were there. At one point a girl wanted to go down the slide that Calleigh was on until she shouted at her and the poor kid ran off. I think we may have to have the sharing talk some time soon haha.

A Picnic with Daddy
To me there is nothing better than watching my two favourite people playing together.
Now that Calleigh is older she is so much more fun to play with and she always wants to play with us. One of her favourite things to do is make a picnic for us, she is a really good host and always makes sure our cups and plates are full.
I can't wait for her birthday to get her some new toys to play with.
We are going to have so much fun!
Here are some photos of Daddy and Calleigh's Picnic Party (Mummy wasn't invited yet again)

This Little Piggy
This weekend we took a trip to the Purina Farm's Visitor Centre. It is a working farm and we got to see lot's of animals and also learn how pet food is made. Calleigh, although she loves seeing them, has always been a bit weary of animals and normally doesn't like to touch them. This time she was a bit braver and managed to put her hand near them but still wouldn't really touch them.
Here are my favourite photo's from our visit.

Daddy's Day Off
Yesterday was Labor Day here for us which meant Daddy had the day off work. We had planned to take a trip to the zoo but Calleigh fell ill over the weekend and I didn't think she would enjoy it as much as she normally does so we decided to do something else and save the zoo for another day.
So instead we took a drive to a nearby wildlife park called Lone Elk Park, this is personally one of our favourites as you are always guaranteed to see something and just around the corner is the Wild Bird Sanctuary.
Whilst driving through we caught sight of a beautiful Elk taking a drink from the lake which also had quite a lot of ducks and geese so we parked up nearby and took a walk down. A kind family gave us a loaf of bread as they were done with it so Calleigh was able to feed the ducks.
She loved it, ducks and geese were everywhere all around her. Unfortunately she couldn't throw the bread very far so the brave geese kept coming right up to her feet. Daddy was watching very carefully and even helped Calleigh feed one out of her hand.
Just around the corner the Elk was still there munching in the grass. He was so beautiful and wasn't at all bothered that we were literally feet away from him. We stopped to take in how amazing it felt to be there with him and then moved on.
After we had finished driving around the park we decided to go the the Bird Sanctuary while we were there. It's free to go in and is home to many different species of birds on display.
Calleigh loves birds and really enjoyed looking at the different birds of prey. Although her favourite definitely seemed to be the Chickens. Probably because you could feed them, which meant she could get her fingers in the cage. We allowed her to do so for a little while until a little chicken became far too interested in Calleigh's finger rather than the food we were throwing in.
Back at home Calleigh crashed a little bit, her illness and the excitement of the day obviously taking it's toll on her. So I gave her a nice bath whilst Daddy baked some lovely cookie brownies. Afterwards we sat cuddled on the sofa watching the Bubble Guppies Fairytale Adventure before going up to bed.
We love spending days like this with Daddy. It makes us realise how lucky we are to have this opportunity to live in America.

And Then She Turned On Us
So we were all hanging out on the drive the other day, Calleigh and I were doing some artwork on the drive when Daddy decided he should really water the grass (not that it would help at all, it died whilst we were in Florida. Who knew you had to water it so often out here).
As soon as he got out the hose pipe and pulled it past Calleigh her eyes lit up.
"Ooooh" She shouted and quickly got up and ran over to Daddy.
Water really amazes her at the moment, she loves playing in it and really enjoyed running through the mist of water. She was having so much fun and then for some reason Daddy decided to show her how to use it. She caught on quick and before we knew it she was holding it in her hand and squeezing the trigger, laughing uncontrollably every time water squirted out of the hose.
And that's when she turned on us.
She quickly turned and aimed the hose, first at Daddy and then at me. Once again laughing as we both ran off in all directions to avoid the jets of water.
Luckily we could run faster than she could so we managed to remain relatively dry.

We only got to see a few fireworks, Calleigh was terrified of the loud bangs they made although really enjoyed watching them when we got back to the car. Maybe next year she might enjoy them a bit more.
