Mother's Day at Minted and Giveaway!!

Mother's Day is just around the corner now and if you are looking to get something that's as unique and special as mom is then look no further than Minted.com

Minted is a design marketplace where you can shop from a community of independent artists all in one place. They simply enter their designs and artwork, it gets judged and then the winners are available to buy on the site. As well as some great art you can also shop home decor and stationary.

Here are a few of my top picks for Mother's Day!

Top Left//Top Right//Bottom Left//Bottom Right

If none of these take your fancy you can find more lovely art in their art collection and ideas in their mother's day gift section.

When it comes to giving (and receiving) gifts I always favor ones that you can personalize. I think personalization makes it all that little bit more special and you can really let someone know how you feel about them. Minted is a great place where you can do just that. A lot of the gift-oriented art designs are personalizable- you can add your own photos and choose the color scheme and in some add your own text.

I had a play around with one of my favorite designs to show you how easy it is to make it your own.

It doesn't just stop at gifts either. You can choose to personalize your own gift wrap and gift tags too so your gift will look amazing! They also have a selection of cards for any occasion.

They also currently have an event on where you can save 20% on all foil pressed products until the 27th April.
Be sure to get your Mother's Day orders in by the 29th to ensure delivery by Mother's Day.

Now for the giveaway.
One winner will receive $50 credit to Minted and free ground shipping (some items are excluded from free shipping)

Mother's Day Gift Ideas- Splurge

It's that time of year again where pretty soon we will be celebrating those that brought us into this world and made us the person we are today.
I have already wished my mum a happy Mother's Day as it has already been and gone in England but luckily she will be here with us on the US Mother's Day too so I will still get my chance to spoil her. It will also be my third Mother's Day and I am really looking forward to a bit of pampering myself.

I have put together a three part Mother's Day gift guide and picked out some lovely items which I'm sure any mother would love to receive on their special day.
The first part is a splurge one for those that want to spend that little bit more or for those with a much more expensive taste.

Keep a look out for the next two instalments to come with more great gift ideas.

Home-Made Treasure Chest

One of the programmes Calleigh likes to watch on Disney Junior is Jake and the Neverland Pirates. We recently brought her a Jake Spyglass and she loves going around the house, following her map, searching for the treasure. Only problem was we didn't have any treasure to find.

So whilst we were out in a craft store I picked up a wooden treasure chest, some paint and some star stencils and decided to make one for her.

I was really simple to do. Just a couple of coats of paint, I used a light beige colour because I wanted the pink stars to stand out. Then use the stencils to either paint or spray on your chosen design. I wanted to keep it simple so just opted for a few stars.

I'm really impressed with it and now Calleigh has her very own treasure chest which she loves! She dances around it with Jake and crew when they count their gold doubloons. I did want to buy more gold doubloons for her but after the incident on the video below I decided I had enough to pick up off the floor.

Storage Ideas for a Tidy Toddler Room

Keeping things tidy when you have a toddler is near impossible. If its not all over the floor its usually just rammed out of sight somewhere. And all of those precious memories in a box or on a high shelf out of reach of wandering hands.

It doesn't have to be a nightmare to keep things tidy or to save those important items somewhere safe and secure. Below is two simple and cute storage ideas to keep your toddler room tidy and looking good at the same time.

Keeping Memories Safe

These gorgeous Fairy Tale storage books are a super cute way to keep those precious items safe. They look just like books so no one will know any different. You can find these on nextdirect.com These ones in particular are perfect for a little girls room but they also do a more neutral set which would look great in a boys room.

Keeping things tidy

Kids have so much stuff its hard to find places for everything. I am constantly struggling to find places for Calleigh's toys. The big ones are no problem but its the tons and tons of little toys she has. One neat way to keep them all in one place- Storage Baskets!

I got these plain white baskets and also added a personalised liner- that way I knew what was in which box and they added to the design of the room.

Gift Ideas for a Girl's 2nd Birthday

1//2//3//4//5

Calleigh's second birthday is now just over 6 weeks away and I already have a super long list of what I want to get her. Listed above are some of the things I am sure of.
This will be very diffrerent to her first birthday. She is much more aware of toys and characters and the choice of toys is much wider than that for a one year old.
She loves to pretend play so the kitchen is a must have. I can't count how many times I've seen her put on the oven gloves and play with the saucepans and pots.
She loves to colour and scribble on things so a little art station will be great to aid with her creativity and also save the furniture a little bit.

I'm really excited to start shopping for things and I can't wait for the day Calleigh gets to open them all. She loves it when she gets packages so I think this year she will really enjoy opening her presents.

As we will be in England for Christmas we are using her Birthday to give her all of the big presents to save us spending a fortune in shipping costs.
